What is a session like?
I customize each session to each person and their health issues, usually using several biofeedback methods over time. Training in deep abdominal breathing is the foundation of most modes to follow:several heart rate+ respiration programs, temperature training, EMG---which measures undetectable muscle tension that leads to many health problems.
A person is connected to the small sensors for the chosen program and essentially learns to change physiological responses over time, by viewing the measurements of various functions on a screen (such as breath, heart rate, muscle tension) and learning how to alter them.
Doesn't everyone know how to breathe?
While changing one's breathing seems simplistic, it is an extremely powerful method to improve one's health, if learned properly and used daily. It involves the parasympathetic part of the nervous system and affects the cardiovascular system, the brain, the immune system, digestion, reproduction, every part of the body. This part of the nervous system counteracts the damage that the sympathetic part ("fight or flight") branch can cause over time due to one's reactions to acute and chronic stress. Some of these reactions are learned or habituated and can be changed.

"I know biofeedback works. I've used it before for different health issues, now it is to cope with multiple sclerosis. I am delighted that I don't have to go all the way to Seattle to receive treatment." Cindy Brenden, Port Townsend
"Biofeedback taught me how to breathe properly, lower my blood pressure, and relax myself internally in stressful situations. It is a wonderful basic relaxation technique for me." Millie Lyon, Port Angeles
